Ode to The Little Black Dress

Every Woman needs a little black dress it's the one garment you can always slip on when you aren't sure what to wear for the evening, but you need to look fabulous.

My bridesmaid dresses are black silk shantung and I can’t wait to see all the girls in them. They are going to be just gorgeous. Everyone always looks at me weird when I tell him or her my dresses are black. “Oh” they say, “That is different, what color are your flowers?”

When looking for a little black dress, identify your key assists. Find a dress that flatters your body type and is comfortable to sit in. Be sure to show of a little skin. A shoulder, knee or backbone never hurt anyone. Crepe goes best with lining, and wool is always good for the winter cocktail parties. Buy a pair of pearls and a sassy pair of heals and you are good to go for years to come.

There are a number of things you can find on the market that play homage to the little black dress. There is a wine company called Little Black Dress Wine.
Check it out: www.lbdwines.com

I like to play Moon River by Johnny Mercer from Breakfast at Tiffany’s while I get ready for a little black dress outing. It enhances the mood and I feel like a princess. So when you are planning a black dress outing be sure to pick up some good wine, good music and pack your red lipstick!

Moon River, wider than a mile,
I'm crossing you in style some day.
Oh, dream maker, you heart breaker,
wherever you're going I'm going your way.
Two drifters off to see the world.
There's such a lot of world to see.
We're after the same rainbow's end--
waiting 'round the bend,
my huckleberry friend,
Moon River and me.
